Moving Into A Care Home – Adele Adams

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Based in North Devon AdeleAdams.co.uk is a site dedicated to help people navigate the trials and tribulations of getting older. The service offered is to both the public, who are maybe trying to ‘do the best thing’ for their aging parents, or to help providers of care to deliver a quality service by giving support with management and quality assurance and help with crisis management.

The Health and Social Care arena is subject to constant change. The demand for good services continues to rise as our aging population increases. After working for many years both in health and social care and the regulation of these services, it has become clear that the constantly changing environment can be challenging at best and confusing at worst.

Adele Adams RGN, Dip Community Healthcare Studies, Clinical Audit Facilitator is the founder of  AdeleAdams.co.uk

Adele is a qualified registered nurse, she has many years of experience in secondary and primary care services and has also worked as a clinical auditor, project manager, facilitator, district nursing sister, and has extensive experience of complex care coordination involving the application of continuing healthcare criteria and experience of representing local health services on funding panels. Adele has spent 5 years as a Regulation Inspector initially with NCSC and then CSCI.

We had to make some compromises and come to terms with the fact that life was going to be very different. We got on top of the house, finishing all the jobs we’d become too despondent to tackle, and made it a home.

Peter had an art exhibition and sold all his paintings. The best thing was that the children were happy at their new schools.

Family life

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

It is great to have all your family together – it has been a tough time – with both sets of our (kid’s grand)parents going through the inevitable onset of ill health due to old age. However the joy of seeing their eldest grandson cheered them up.
