Tarot Art prediction – it is there in the cards – #Tarot #Art

Tarot reading for Art

You can’t be aware of beforehand what will happen in the future where art is concerned but you can predict that the same old tired ideas that have been thought of before will come around again – it is predicted in the cards.

Card 1 (Justice) : How you feel about yourself now »
You are feeling that things will go your way, you believe in fairness and justice in all things. If you are considering partnership issues, personal or professional, dealings will go well. Perhaps you are about to sign a contract with a gallery or legal document with an agent – this will be beneficial to you. If someone has done wrong to you it will be put right and you will feel justice has been done. ( Tarot Art )

  • You can paint using any crap

Contemporary artists have extended the boundaries of painting considerably to include; collage, different materials such as sand, cement, straw or wood for their texture. Juxtaposing images and materials, either as a collage, printing or painting is not simply a decorative process it is a complicated exercise. The mind always tries to create a narrative between images and materials. The juxtaposition of arbitrary marks, color, photographs etc. will always tease and trick the mind into rationalizing what it is trying to process and attempt to make physical world references – in other words make sense of what it is trying to analyze.

Card 2 (The Lovers) : What you most want at this moment »
The cards suggest that what you most want at this time is to know what choice to make – carry on as you are or take a risk? The risk offers excitement and change and staying as you are …. Well you know what that has to offer. Dare to love, dare to live? Dare to paint differently? ( Tarot Art )

  • Digital canvas (?)

Since the proliferation of computers, painting could be argued to have migrated to the digital age (world). There is a massive community of artists who use computers to paint color onto a digital canvas using programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, Gimp and others. Does this mean that new printing techniques have now become absorbed into painting methodologies and practices?

Card 3 (The World) : Your fears »
You are afraid of taking action and lack confidence and will power, but this is a time to be positive and proactive, otherwise you will experience loss of momentum, delays and stagnation. Completion and success are only a step away, don’t give up, lose heart, lose faith in your art or change direction when you are so close to the finish line. ( Tarot Art )

  • Thrown together Art

This meshing together of processes, unrelated imagery and the breaking down of barriers cannot be seen as a shortcut to intellectual credibility. The dedicated thought process that goes with the creative procedure should be one of intense reasoning. It is therefore unrealistic to expect the uneducated masses to use the computers prescriptive decision making to create ‘real art’. The birth of Photoshop has enabled everybody to create ‘non-intellectual’ versions of Rauschenberg (and Warhol) – this is not ART.

Card 4 (The Chariot) : What is going for you »
Drive, drive, drive, that’s what’s going for you. You certainly aren’t a quitter that’s for sure. The appearance of The Chariot tells of conflicts ending in victory, so don’t give up, battle on and you will succeed. This is a time of movement and change. Expect a journey relating to your art, and if you’ve had you’re eye on that car, it will soon be yours. ( Tarot Art )

  • Art is nothing

“Painting is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other medium to a surface. The application of the medium is commonly applied with a brush. In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action. These same criteria can be used to describe printing.”

Card 5 (The High Priestess) : What is going against you »
Insecurity is a devil that taunts us but only if we listen to that ‘doubting Thomas’ we all have in our heads. Ignore it. What do your instincts tell you? Perhaps you don’t like what they say? Well you could always go against your instincts, but we all know what that leads to don’t we! ( Tarot Art )

  • Oil Painting

Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments that are bound together with a medium of drying oil. Oil paint eventually became the principal medium used for creating artworks as its advantageous properties became widely known and exploited. By the height of the Renaissance oil painting techniques had almost completely replaced tempera paints in the majority of Europe.

Card 6 (Wheel Of Fortune) : Outcome »
Expect life to change and quickly. Fate, destiny or synchronicity, call it what you like, positive change and good fortune is evident here. If you have important choices to make trust your intuition. Do you feel that events seem to be evolving without much input from you? If so trust it and go with the flow. ( Tarot Art )

The Genetics of Painting?
There are various ways of making Paintings to recipes, each becoming a question of process and discovery, controlling chance, arranging colour with simple brush strokes, dragging or pouring paint across the surface to reveal a vast range range of effects. The act of painting can be reduced to its most simple and material elements, new materials can be discovered and played with……Is this really painting?….. what is the process/purpose of the creation? Behind the rhetoric and bullshit there must be a reason….otherwise YCRE8.

Words taken out of context lose their meaning. Publishing documents that contain controversial language puts the author at risk. Any constructed environment can promote alienation, but it can also enhance communication to form a quasi-organic platform for human interaction. The fact that most of us have an on-line persona suggests that computer communication enables us to visit places and have discussions with people we would normally avoid. We are engaging in the pseudo-anonymous system/society. Underground activities have migrated out of analog media (the printed word, film etc.) into ‘this world’. This world has evolved into a global system with multiple layers in which new authorities compete to control its uses; platform wars, chip races, and operating system alliances. The pseudo-identity of the user is being exposed; law is punishing non-conformity, censorship and the rules of globalization have invaded the system. The Klondike Spirit has taken over the open system and turned it into the homogenized high street we all know.

(A non-homogeneous system, whose terms and relationships are not constant, allows language to break up, to stumble over the rules of its grammar, by necessity it has to respond radically to other linguistic components, creating a new linguistic order and syntax. )

Memories: Renoir, dead birds and rubber gloves, stolen kisses, life, stillness, pouches of Chinese fresh drinking water, broken dreams, lost lovers, onions, sections of discarded fishing nets strewn across the tourist beach, lovers in the darkness groping for the dark, hands first finding spaces, then they find there mark, my father, my ghost, my hopes and dreams, stinking of rotting carcasses [Read More]

imageParadigm: Clients are always shocked when I suddenly present to them a ‘painting from life’ – I appear to produce slap-dash imagery as my main artistic process, this isn’t because I haven’t mastered the basic fundamental skills of ‘traditional’ painting and drawing because I have and I am more than able to produce paintings in a typical style or pattern of work; a pattern or mode of working, arranged in order to form semantic constructions and express relations(hips) to the real world.

…a position of extreme difficulty or resistance

Conclusion:  Starting from a previously successful way of making paintings Peter has quite deliberately explored new approaches that have been combined with the use of new materials. At the centre of these approaches has been a continuing battle to rid previous ‘habits’ and expectations about how to make art. Unlearning old skills and employing new strategies are a constant preoccupation and he brings to tutorials a questioning about how (and in how many ways) we can read the resulting work itself. His stance has been courageous – he has been prepared to let go; take risks and this is beginning to pay dividends.

Getting things done is about making higher and better use of all of one’s abilities – spiritual, emotional etc. We have the power to make a difference, to our lives and in the greater world, if we simply make a point to try and deliberately explore new approaches.

Synchronicities, which point towards deep, creative journeys – the “importance” of their superficial appearances may lead to a cul de sac or a new route. Fnding knowledge, strength, and inspiration needed to make a positive step either backwards or forwards is the desired thing, to be prepared to let go and take risks.

The Truth is much starker:

creativityThere are millions of ‘Art’ viewpoints; some take a position of extreme difficulty or resistance. This position questions everything and is unforgiving. The principal is that artists should look beyond the superficiality of life and expose the core. They should also look at the superficiality of Art and culture and rip and tear at the flesh of its own conception, rejecting Metaphor, Romanticism etc. etc. By implementing such self imposed draconian measures you may be left with a purity of ideas but that leaves little to create or live for.

New beginnings and great expectations are always available – a positive omen is always possible on the turn of a card?

Original thought = original sin = so fucking sue me, I adore your arse

The Age of Reason

From birth to death, it is the stuff in the middle that is sometimes slightly different. To say we are all unique is strictly not true – love, loneliness, disappointment, illness, parenthood (I love my boys) etc. are things we all experience in someway or another. Yes, it is probably true that I have gone through a period of dramatic change and upheaval, however in this state of flux I have entered a period of great transformation and a new beginnings. It is time to re-evaluate – as difficult as the disappointment has been to take, change has created new possibilities that have never been dreamed of before but I am not unique – this shared pathway is what makes us part of a collective. It is most probable that anything you write about on the internet will become a shared emotion, concept, a facebook like or a thought or dream and somebody out there will be thinking, ‘I thought of that ages ago’ – Sin Nature? Surely it is our obligation to do things better and not worry about authorship, we are all guilty of plagiarism, even in our life choices.

So fucking sue me: Yes this is us being aggressive and confrontational, a call to war, used as a response in situations where we are criticised for stealing an artistic, creative idea (or maybe guilty of a sin). Who gives a fuck about the consequences. – we might get a facebook like out of it.

Original sin: Ancestral sin, is the Christian doctrine of humanity’s state of sin resulting from the fall of man, stemming from Adam’s rebellion in the Garden of Eden. This condition has been characterized in many ways, ranging from something as insignificant as a slight deficiency, or a tendency toward sin yet without collective guilt, referred to as a “sin nature”, to something as drastic as total depravity or automatic guilt of all humans through collective guilt. Guilt is a pointless emotion, we all steal (I’ll steal any creative idea if I want to make it mine) lust (I adore your arse) and indirectly murder  – I don’t give a shit about sin (maybe?) so fucking sue me.

The Age of Reason: Being an Investigation of True and Fabulous Theology is a pamphlet, written by a British and American revolutionary Thomas Paine, that challenges institutionalized religion and the legitimacy of the Bible, the central text of Christianity. Published in three parts in 1794, 1795, and 1807, it was a bestseller in the United States, where it caused a short-lived deistic revival. British audiences, however, fearing increased political radicalism as a result of the French Revolution, received it with more hostility. The Age of Reason presents common deistic arguments; for example, it highlights what Paine saw as corruption of the Christian Church and criticizes its efforts to acquire political power. Paine advocates reason in the place of revelation, leading him to reject miracles and to view the Bible as an ordinary piece of literature rather than as a divinely inspired text. It promotes natural religion and argues for the existence of a creator-God.

Grass on a wall Morte Point (Photo credit: 35mm_photographs)

This is a land of hope, hope and glory, glory boys, glory, glory, hallelujah.

The bells ring out for obedience,
Like a chorus of funeral bells.

The drugged out hippy cries for peace,
And then tries to find his head.

Bloody whores whip them,
Watch them bob and dance.

On the end of a rope,
On the end of a joke.

The Chariot : Outcome – All of these things below have happened »
Conflicts ending in victory! Keep charging ahead this is a time of change, travel and success if you stay committed to achieving your goals. A journey relating to work is imminent and if you’ve had your eye on that new car it will soon be yours. Remember, though, that you’ll need to use both your intellect and your heart, in order to be truly successful. A battle can be won if you have the willpower for it. The battle is an external one, with a clear goal and plan of action. Qualities needed to win the battle include self-reliance, righteousness, conviction and plain hard work. The steeds represent powerful forces, internal or external, that can be controlled to achieve the goal.
