It has always been a dilemma: Vanity over Fear. (see Contact Lenses)
I am incredibly vain (aren’t we all?) and slightly short-sighted but the thought of putting contact lenses in scares me. I can’t comprehend why people put their fingers in their eyes…
Online stores say things like: “Buy Contact Lenses Online they are cheaper bought directly from the UK. …All major brands of contact lenses supplied – Cibavision & Acuvue Dailies, Freshlook Colours, Purevision extended wear, Acuvue Oasys and more…buy from our UK distribution centre where you get great prices and a free delivery.” but am I tempted?
The language of myopia is a strange code – but I like the packaging:
What to do? Ophthalmologists and optometrists most commonly correct myopia through the use of corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses. It may also be corrected by refractive surgery, such as LASIK. The corrective lenses have a negative optical power (i.e. are concave) which compensates for the excessive positive diopters of the myopic eye. In some cases, pinhole glasses are used by patients with low-level myopia. These work by reducing the blur circle formed on the retina.
