I was sent this interesting press release – people buy ‘Art’ for the same reasons. I can recommend this company – I get my glasses from them.

DESIGNER EYEWEAR TO MATCH YOUR MOOD?
Research just out from online prescription spectacle retailer GlassesUK.com indicates that many women choose their glasses frames not only to compliment their hair and skin colour but also to match their mood or occasion.
Sleek, strong statement frames are favoured by those who want a professional look, with 90 per cent of respondents claiming that ‘serious business’ dictate ‘serious’ glasses.
Two tone and coloured frames – particularly candy colours – are preferred by the more creative and frivolous media types for co-ordinating with favourite fashions. Evening-wear and nights out usually indicate lightweight, rimless frames that give the wearer an impression of nothingness.
GlassesUK.com managing director, Mark Wakefield, says, “ Over the last four years we’ve seen many people buying several pairs of glasses in different colours and styles to match specific outfits. Our spectacles are so much cheaper than their high street equivalent that our customers say they can afford it. But it was only a few months ago that we realised that many of our customers are now also buying to match their mood and occasion.
We’ve had several requests for ‘interview’ glasses, a couple of rimless frames specifically for brides and only last week a guy wanting a ‘sad’ pair for a funeral. At this rate it won’t be long before I’m being asked to colour co-ordinate with underwear!â€
