I wonder how many of my old teachers from my old schools are dead – they were my age when I was at school. 

The only one who I know for sure is dead is Clifford T Ward, he was my English teacher (which explains a lot). He was a singer songwriter who had a ‘chart’ sucess with ‘Gaye‘ – the story was that she was a pupil in my class (she was also a girlfriend of mine). His English lessons were spent writting requests to ‘radio one’ DJs – Tony Blackburn et al. There is a bit more about how CTW influenced me here He was a nice bloke (but a crap teacher) and his lyrics were very poetic I think I will listen to him again.

Madly getting myself organised for my ‘cultural’ trip to New York (need socks and pants). I think I will take a book to read – On The Way To Work maybe. I hope to meet an old friend of mine there – Tessa Souter ……maybe I should read Tessa’s book (but I’ve already read it – well all the bits that of got me in it). You really should buy her CD.
