Where to start?

There are lots of things that are important when creating a business website……but where to start? Each bit needs another bit….but which bit first?
Placing your idea or product on the Internet involves several complicated, interwoven elements, each one is dependent and relies on another. This ‘spaghetti’, which can be an utter tangled mess, is vital for online success. You need a strategy that can combine the skills of the participants (key company members) which can deliver your final product, convey your style, in an easily digestible manner  – your clients need to be able to access and purchase your products with ease. This structure has to be created using a system that both creators and users can understand.
This conundrum is similar to the problem artists have when creating a work of art – the final image  requires a parallel set of decision making processes.

Comunicate keywords

Roman Baths - Bath
There are over 3000 languages spoken by the human race today.  The language you decide to communicate your thoughts and product details in must be of a standard that enables the viewer to understand what you are trying to say. Languages are not restricted to verbal processes but can also be based on visual communication eg. sign languages and the written word. Codes and other kinds of communication systems are also languages eg. Morse code. A language in this sense is a system of signs for encoding and decoding information. HTML, or HyperText Markup Language, provides a means of formatting content in ways that browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Firefox can understand – they then act as a decoder or translator, converting the code into a visual and text format that humans (hopefully) can understand.
An HTML “tag” is an element enclosed in angle brackets. Each element requires a “starting tag” and “closing tag”.

What role Meta tags do play in Search engine optimization (SEO)? I think this question can be partly answered by stating – The effectiveness of tags depends on the ever changing processes and criteria search engines use to rank pages.

In the good old days, the keywords tag played a vital role in determining the position of websites in the result pages of all the important search engines. You could stuff, repeat and overkill your keywords tags with important and relevant golden words. You could trick and redirect searches to sites using ‘sexy’ and irrelevant words and phrases, consequently keywords have become useless for searching and quite frankly the sooner keywords disappear from meta tags the better.
However, always use your own keyword phrase(s) in your meta tags in the source code of your web site. Experiment with different words, place them in the tags and wait for a few weeks and then conduct a search on the major search engines to work out the ranking of your web site – then see if your keyword meta tags have been successful in improving your ranking.
