Clifford T Ward And Also The Trees

Sometimes, when it all closes in, you have to look back and remember where you came from. My old English teacher keeps popping into my mind – I didn’t realise he had written so many songs and was so ‘sucessful’. One of my favourite songs (ever) ‘Home Thoughts From Abroad’.

I’ve also rediscovered ‘And Also The Trees’ who were from Worcestershire – when I also lived there and was a member of ‘Finish The Story’. They have definitely become stronger and more powerful with age – are they the reborn vanguards of the darker side to music?

The video above is And Also The Trees live at Bush Hall, London 13th October 2007 – we appeared on the same bill as them in 1981(ish)…see poster

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
