Depeche Mode

The ultimate electronic band ever? They were an electro-pop band of the 1980s (to be honest not really contenders for the crown) a dance-pop outfit which gradually metamorphosed into the darker, fat, dramatic sounding band we now know. ‘Personal Jesus’ may have been covered by others but this track is undoubtedly Depeche Mode at (maybe) their best. They have successfully positioned themselves as one of the most renowned electronic alternative bands of our time. Yep in my mind they are the ultimate electronic band ever!

The ability to continually grow and adapt, creating music that always promises to be spine tingling and exciting is a fantastic example of how to survive in this creative crushing world – I’m looking forward to the next 20+ years to see what they come up with.

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
