Jenni French

I have had Jenni French’s music on my player for most of today. I love the way she records her stuff, nothing is over complicated or too tricksy just straight forward and down the line. I adore the way ‘Furry Butterfly’ begins with a simple vocal and then stops…starts again and gradually builds. ‘American Woman Remix’ begins as a typical American female rock ballad and then becomes an electronic stomp – this is such a commercial sounding song. ‘911 Remix’ is probably the coolest thing I’ve heard for ages, great vocals, great control – superb!….I think I will stop there before I embarrass myself.

Jenni is a singer, songwriter and recording artist. She records her own music using ProTools with husband, Toby Francis. All the tracks on the player are different but have (undoubtedly) a Jenni French sound and feel. I was really disappointed when the tracks were over, I wanted more.

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
