New stuff

Read M4tr's blog - it is really dull

A new site MorgueGallery.com has got some cheap downloads of my stuff and they are looking for more Artists (suckers) to exploit. Have a look at this bundle.

I’m getting really good at this shit.

Old stuff – I hadn’t exhibited a piece of my work for 23 years. In December 2002 the open show at The Burton Art Gallery in Bideford North Devon seemed to me to be the kindest way to reintroduce myself to the absurd ritual of rejection and possible humiliation by Curators and their committees’. I had three paintings accepted and ‘Sunset Over Woolacombe’ was sold at the exhibition. This was the first painting I’d sold in 22 years.

‘View
2 Putsborough’

Acrylic and oil on canvas. Both Painted Sept. 2002

I did these paintings on my own terms….I wanted to paint ‘this‘ landscape and I wanted them framed in heavy gold frames….like a Constable.

The painting left was painted from memory.

The one end of the beach is the town of Woolacombe, to the other is Putsborough and Baggy Point.

The painting right was also painted from memory.

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
