I have always adored bootleg albums that were recorded on crappy cassettes and reproduced and sold to those who knew how to get them. The quality was always dubious and half the time all you could hear were the muffled bass frequencies, complimented by masses of hiss.

The tracks I have been listening to were recorded live at the ‘Jet Lounge’ this feels like a bootleg except the quality is a million times better than the cassette days. The vocals are digitally crisp and clear….but as with the old bootlegs – there is always a loud mouth talking in the background.

An accomplished singer and performer but I am rather intrigued to know what the next gig is all about – Organ Recital: Simon Bell Sunday, 6 September, 2009. 5:45 to 6:15 Westminster Abbey – will somebody please enlighten me.

Currently in Amsterdam recording his debut album “Burning Bridges”, Simon is almost finished with the recording process & will soon be performing around various locations around Europe.

Simon has a very unique sound, and is recording/mixing & producing his debut album himself, playing all instruments & singing all vocals.

When performing live, Simon mainly plays solo acoustic sets, but has recently formed the band “Blackrider” with 2 friends in Amsterdam, which will also use Simon’s songs, but be a much heavier outfit.
