Technological Sun – Review

When I first flicked this onto the player I was transported back to the early 1970’s and back to the first time I heard (the German band) Can – I have no idea why but I was in a dingy bedroom with a beautiful woman and one thing lead to……..

There are swirly phased psychedelic (Hawkwind’s Silver Machine) type effects going on but then there is other contemporary stuff mixed in. ‘Road to Damascus’ is an epic adventure with backward (I think) guitars at the beginning and then we are off to the exotic East. This has the feel of something free form, without being rambling or egocentric – and it is wonderful.

‘Technological Sun’s main objective has always been to transport the listener to another sonic realm by pushing the aural barrier to its furthest limits.’ I’ll drink to that!

……I wish I could remember her name.

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
