The Faded Yellow Line – Review

I did a review on ‘Right To Asylum‘ a little while back and praised the guy who sang on ‘No More Roads’ well this is that man. There are zillions of people out there who think strumming a guitar and singing is easy – well yes it is – but there are only a few who can do it well.

When you strip down a song and just leave the important bits, the idea, the melody, the rhythm and the lyric, you end up with something that is either utter crap or something that is honest and totally engaging. ‘House of the Cat’ just sounds like a couple or so guitars and a vocal played live in your living room (that is a bit unfair, it is really recorded exceptionally well) incredibly intimate, well sung and (pats on the back) really well played – if I keep this sickly praise going for much longer I will puke. Yep, get me the bucket.

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
