Bassmerchant

I’ve been listening to this artist a lot recently – I love the way the tracks are put together. The mixture of voice and sounds in ‘Konfuztionz’ makes you feel like you should look over your shoulder, to see what is coming behind you. This uneasy felling makes the whole thing really exciting. Have a listen.

Bassmerchant says:

Bassmerchant an unsigned artist from the West Midlands UK has been working on beats since 2001 using the first beta version of Reason before it was released. Impulse tracker and rave Ej were great learning tools for production and the learning of arrangement for dance tracks and working out how beats were produced in time. Over the years I have been involved in the promotion of Drum&Bass in the West Midlands playing out with artists like Micky Finn, Shy Fx, Taxman, Simon Bassline Smith, Drum Sound and many many more. My production studio has been built up over the years and now boasts one of the most advanced hardware synths money can buy the Andromeda A6 as well as the latest software. I try not to stick with one type of style as you may well know from listening to my tracks I like to produce Ambiance, Dance, Experimental, Dub-Step, Drum&Bass and most things in-between. I’m currently working on my portfolio of music for computer games as the commercial side of music has changed so much and I’ve grown up playing 1000’s of games I feel this is where I will have most fun with music and have a steady career for the future, although a number 1 in the charts would be nice. I Produce music for pleasure and the pleasures of others. Music is like a language that we sub consciously understand and I love playing around with sounds that wobble the mind and take people on a journey.’

About peter

'Death by Sushi' Fish can kill me. When I was very small (maybe 3 or 4 years old) my grandfather, who lost the sight of one eye from a bullet fired by a German sniper (fortunately not a very good one) during the Battle of the Somme in World War 1, wiped my face with the corner of his apron, an apron he had used to wipe his filleting knife on. He was a grocery shopkeeper who specialized in wet fish.
